Sudoku Helper 1.45

I have modified a Sudoku generator so it is now able to generate Sudoku with unique solution. Also, best scores are now saved. Jar file available here. Code here.

1.4 Patchnotes:
Added: Generating Sudoku with unique solution at one of three different difficulty levels
Added: When playing non-custom Sudoku (ones with unique solution) user is asked whether they want to cheat – best scores in cheated games will not be saved.
Added: Best scores, up to 10 in each difficulty.
Added: Mnemonics on the menu bar.
Added: Hint that fills random cell (requires solving algorithm to find a solution).
Added: Window is now displayed in the middle of the screen.
Fixed: Program no longer crashes when automatically solving already solved Sudoku.

1.41 Patchnotes:
Fixed: It was not possible to turn off auto fill and auto suggestion removal.

1.45 Patchnotes:
Added: When erasing while in “fill suggestion” mode, all suggestions are cleared. They can be restored with single undo.
Fixed: Second best score was added at the first position instead, it has been fixed.
Fixed: When starting new Sudoku while in “fill suggestion” mode, the mode was not changed to “fill”, however a selected cell had a red colour instead of blue. Now mode is changed to “fill” when starting new Sudoku.

  1. Is the “Fill all” option is expected to fill the cells only with the numbers that lead to the right solution?

I made a screenshot of a situation in which it’s not clear:

    Regards :-)

  2. This is a very good point, Mateusz. Fill all suggestions button firstly fills all possibilities and than applies two algorithms for suggestions removal. Please refer to this post to learn more about them:

Unfortunately, the advanced algorithm for suggestions removal is not that advanced and does not remove “one” from possibilities in top right corner of the grid presented in your screenshot.

And filling the possibilities only with the numbers that lead to the right solution… If there is only one solution, would it not be just to solve the Sudoku?
