RobotGame – my first (serious) program :)

Friend of mine has just shown me her first game, written after a week of learning programming, so I have decided to find my first game, written after about 6 weeks of learning programming. I have spent over a week on it (about 10 hours daily), it has over 1300 lines of code and the only used classes are javax.swing.JOptionPane, java.util.Random and java.util.Scanner.

It’s a simple turn-based tactics game (terminal based) for 1-10 players. There are only few stats such as speed (determines number of action points), attack (damage dealt) and endurance (health points, max damage taken). It is really nothing special. It has a lost of mistakes, I didn’t know any conventions at this point so even a style is not as it should be in few places. Also, there is a lot of redundant code and it was written without any design. I believe that I could recreate it in below 1000 lines within one evening. But, as a first program above 200 lines, I am quite satisfied with what I have done. And what is the most important – I have learnt really a lot :)

Code. Jar.
